This is a collection of tips found online to help you improve your Zoom presence. The most common issues that hinder your ability of being a Zoom pro are poor lighting, camera position, and unstable WIFI internet connections. Some things you can’t adjust, but working with the tools you have, you can Zoom like pro with a few tweaks.

  • Look your best! “Spiffy up” as you would for a traditional conference room meeting.

  • Test your video and audio before your meeting at zoom.us/test

  • Lighting is really key to good video. Adjust your lighting and don’t sit with in front of a bright window behind you.

  • Look at the camera when you are talking. It seems a little unnatural but it give the other attendess attendees the view feeling that you are looking at them when you speak.

  • Adjust your camera to eye level if you can. Looking up your nose or at the top of your head isn’t flattering or a natural view when in person.

  • If possible use a wired internet connection. Poor WIFI can make your video and audio low quality or cut out when you are speaking.

  • Don’t eat. People are watching you.

  • Find a quiet place and or use your best headphones or microphone.

  • Mute yourself when not speaking especially if you are taking notes on a laptop with a loud keyboard.
