Now that the University of Utah has a Zoom site license with Single Sign On, here’s how to sign into Zoom with your university University ID and password sign-on (SSO) from your computer using the Web Portal, Desktop Client (app), or Mobile App for your phone or tablet.

Important Note:

  • These instructions apply for University of Utah staff & faculty. They do not apply to University of Utah Hospital staff that require HIPPA HIPAA compliance.

Web portal

  1. Navigate to the University of Utah Zoom URL https://lms-utah.zoom.us

  2. Click Sign in.

  3. You will be redirected to the familiar University of Utah log in window to sign in with your university University ID, password and 2 factor authentication. After signing in, you will be redirected back to the Zoom web portal.

  1. Locate and open the Zoom app in your Start Menu (Windows), Dock or Applications Folder (MacOS).

  2. Click Sign in.

  3. Click Sign In with SSO.

  4. Enter the University of Utah Zoom domain “lms-utah” and click Continue.

  5. You will be redirected to a familiar University of Utah log in window to sign in with your university University ID, password and 2 factor authentication. After signing in, you will be redirected back to the Zoom Desktop Client.

  1. Locate and launch the Zoom app on your Smart Phone or Tablet.

  2. Tap Sign In

  6. After signing in, you will be redirected back to the Zoom Mobile App.

  7. You may get a notice that Zoom would like to access your calendar for scheduling meetings or if you are using an iOS device Would you like to use Zoom with Siri. That’s a personal choice. I would note that it’s recommended to use the official Microsoft Outlook app for your email and calendar which makes this option less desirable.
