Crestron AirMedia is a wireless presentation solution that allows users to share content from their devices to a display without the need for cables. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use it effectively.
Ensure your device is connected to the UConnect Wi-Fi network. This is crucial for establishing a connection.
The interfaces vary, but generally instructions are posted near the touchscreens for powering on the system.
After the projector system is on, select the AirMedia input.
For Windows and macOS:
If using a US IT provided laptop, AirMedia is already installed. You can find it by searching for “Crestron AirMedia” on Windows or Mac
If using a personal laptop, you can download using the following links. No installation is necessary, you can just run the application from wherever you downloaded it.
Alternatively, you can simply search “Windows AirMedia download” or “Mac AirMedia download” on Google. Only download from crestron.com!
For iOS and Android:
Download the Crestron AirMedia app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
You can find the IP address after switching to the AirMedia input on the projector panel. The IP will be displayed in a corner of the splash screen, it should look something like 10.88.43.12.
After launching the AirMedia application, it will spin for a second while it searches for nearby receivers. It will rarely find any. Instead you’ll need to manually enter the AirMedia receiver’s IP address in the textbox that says “Enter receiver’s address” and then press Enter to connect.
You will likely be prompted for a security code. This code is displayed in a corner of the splash screen.
After connecting to the AirMedia receiver and entering the security code, you can now share your screen.
Windows: No additional steps are needed. You should start sharing as soon as you enter the security code in the previous step.
Mac: Select the control center icon in the upper right, next to the date/time. Then select “Screen Mirroring”. You should see the AirMedia receiver listed there. Select it to begin sharing.
You can disconnect from the AirMedia receiver by closing the application or selecting the disconnect option.
You can contact the Digital Learning Technologies team for any AirMedia-related issues. They can be reached by sending an email to classhelp@utah.edu.
