Battery and Misc. Electronic Recycling

There are two options available to Undergraduate Studies faculty/staff for battery and other electronic recycling. If you prefer to go through the US IT team, you’re more than welcome to drop off your batteries at our office in Sill Center 132. We will partner with the University Environmental Health & Safety team to properly dispose of them. Please contact us at 801-587-2297 or email it@us.utah.edu if you plan on recycling a large volume of batteries, we will coordinate the process with you.

Batteries and many other electronics can also be recycled at Best Buy. No reservation is needed. The only thing to note is they charge a $25 fee to recycle any TVs/Monitors that are larger than 55”. All other recycling is free.

If you do manage to find a device that Best Buy refuses to recycle, your next best bet will be to check Recycle Nation. They can help locate a recycling center for more niche items.
