How to Use Secure Print on Canon Copiers

The Secure Print feature allows you to lock your sensitive print jobs behind a PIN to ensure privacy in a public printing space.

Windows

The following steps will be using Word as an example, but they can be applied to any document editing application.

  1. Select File → Print

  2. Make sure you have a Canon copier selected, then select “Printer Properties”

  3. You’ll see the following screen:

  1. Select the “Output Method” dropdown, and select “Secure Print”.

  1. Select “Yes” on the popup to set the user information now.

  1. Put your name in for the username, and provide a PIN to lock the document with, then select “OK”.

  1. Select OK on the main printer properties window, then select print.

  2. Make your way to the copier, and select the “Secure Print” button. You’ll see your document listed.

  3. Select your document, authorize the print job using the PIN you set earlier, and voila, you’ve successfully secure printed!
