How to set up Teams on Android

Instructions

  1. Launch the Play Store on your device

  2. In the top search bar, search Microsoft Teams. Then click Install

  3. After it installs, launch the app. Enter your uNID@umail.utah.edu and click Sign in. (if your screen shows something different, skip to step 4)

    Then in the next window ensure the user name is your uNID@umail.utah.edu and then enter your CIS password and click Sign in.

    Then authenticate with a push notification or PIN as set up with your DUO app. Then skip to step 5.

  4. If you have already been signed in to another Microsoft app like Outlook or Skype for Business, you may see the screen below. Click your email and it will log you in and you can go on to step 5. If the correct account doesn’t show, then click Sign in with a different account and go back to step 3.

  5. It will then come up with a welcome screen. Click next until you get to the last slide, then click Got it

  6. It will then show you the home screen of the app. To make calls, click More in the bottom-right corner, then click Calls.

    Then click the Phone icon in the bottom-right corner.

    Type the number you would like to call, and then hit the phone icon.

    If asked for permission for Teams to record audio, click While using the app.

    While in a call, you can mute yourself, share video, pull up the dialpad, etc. To hang up, click the red phone icon. To learn more about other features in Teams, go to this link: https://teamsdemo.office.com/mobile/index.html#/

  7. To sign out of the app, click the three bars at the top-left of your home screen, and then Settings > Sign out
