How to pair your Dell wireless keyboard and mouse (bluetooth)

Follow these steps to pair your wireless keyboard and mouse to your laptop. By using bluetooth instead of the USB dongle, you can continue to use the keyboard and mouse even when away from your dock.

Pairing your mouse

  1. Locate the slot on the side of the mouse cover. Using your fingertip, pry open the mouse cover.

  2. Install the AA battery into the battery compartment.

  3. Remove the sticker from the USB dongle, but leave it in its compartment.

  4. Replace the mouse cover.

  5. Slide the switch on the bottom of the mouse to turn it on.

  6. Press the connection-mode button under the scroll wheel until the connection-mode light turns on indicating that bluetooth 2 connection is selected. Press and hold the connection-mode button until the light starts flashing to indicate that you are in pairing mode.

  7. On your computer, navigate to your Start Menu > Settings.

  8. Then, click Devices.

  9. Make sure that the slider under Bluetooth is switched to On. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.

  10. Under Add a device, click Bluetooth.

  11. Click Dell Mouse.

  12. Once it says Your device is ready to go! click Done. Your mouse will then automatically pair to your computer when turned on.

Pairing your keyboard

  1. Remove the battery cover.

  2. Install the AA batteries into the battery compartment.

  3. Replace the battery cover.

  4. Slide the power switch to the right to turn on the keyboard.

  5. Press the connection-mode button twice on your keyboard (within 3 seconds) until the connection-mode light turns on indicating that bluetooth 2 connection is selected. Press and hold the connection-mode button until the light starts flashing to indicate that you are in pairing mode.

  6. On your computer, navigate to your Start Menu > Settings.

  7. Then, click Devices.

  8. Make sure that the slider under Bluetooth is switched to On. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.

  9. Under Add a device, click Bluetooth.

  10. Click Dell Keybd.

  11. Enter the PIN that is displayed on your screen on the keyboard, then press Enter (it will be different that what is shown in the screenshot below).

  12. When it says Your device is ready to go! click Done.
